Hi all! Thank you so much for following my journey so far. I’ve been in Nicaragua for a few days now, but haven’t had a good wifi connection yet, which makes it hard to post pictures.
I have a lot of stunning pictures of Managua and Ometepe, and am hoping for a better connection when I get to San Juan del Sur next week so I can make a photo heavy post! If you have snapchat, I have been able to upload there – I’m @amandaeatscarbs
My sister Breanna and I are having a great time exploring the adorable and gorgeous island of Ometepe by motorbike – I can’t wait to tell you more and show you pics!!
Thank you for following along ☺️
I saw a lot of dead people today. Really really old dead people… MUMMIES.
I went to the Egyptian Museum in Turin, Italy today, and saw some crazy stuff.
THAT IS AN ACTUAL MUMMY.
There were actually a large amount of mummies, so many that I lost track of how many I’d seen by the time I left.
The museum was super interesting, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Turin.
The statues were insane to see.
The detail is just so amazing.
Then we found an actual Egyptian temple that had been moved from Egypt to the museum in Turin. I never thought I would actually go into an ancient museum temple in my life, but today it happened.
All in all, it was a great time. I think the craziest part of the museum was seeing the actual human remains pictured below. CRAZY.
Have you ever seen a mummy?? Let me know in the comments below. 🙂
I’m going to Denmark!
I bought a ticket to Copenhagen on Tuesday. I put in my two weeks notice at work immediately afterward (seriously, within the hour) and now I’m frantically making an itinerary for a two and a half month trip to Europe. I started getting the feeling like I needed to go. I felt like waiting until February (my original start date for my round the world trip) was just creating this feeling of comfort. It’s hard to explain, but I felt like I was just not taking the whole thing seriously and I needed a kick in the butt. So I bought a ticket to Copenhagen.
This could be the scariest and most insane thing I’ve ever done; not only do I have two weeks to prepare, but I’ll be missing the holidays with my family and it is freezing in Europe during the winter! Even though it will be sad to be away from my family on Christmas, I feel like I’m doing what is right for me. Wish me luck 🙂
