I often get asked, “is it hard to travel as a vegan?”
The answer is no, absolutely not! I’ve found loads of resources that make traveling as a vegan easier than ever. These are my best vegan travel resources.
Vegan Travel Resources
When I’m heading to a new place, I like to google “best vegan restaurants (insert city name here).” This gets me excited for all the yummy vegan food I’ll get to eat. If there isn’t much in terms of restaurants, I’ll take the chance to save some money, and make my own cheap vegan recipes.
Vegan Travel Resources : Finding Products
Finding vegan health and body care can be simple and easy as well. If there isn’t anything available at your local grocery store, try to find an organic store in the city. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the availability of vegan body care in Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and even South America!
Something doesn’t have to be marked “vegan” to actually be vegan. Do your research to find out which products you use may be vegan, and find out which mainstream products are vegan. PETA has great resources for this. I love to browse their list of accidentally vegan foods.
Another option when looking for vegan products is to join Facebook groups! Though Australia and New Zealand are filled with all sorts of vegan products, I learned the hard way that not all of them are so great. I joined an Australia and New Zealand Vegan Beauty group on Facebook. I love to start conversations in there about which products I can find easily that are vegan, high quality, and won’t break the bank. Look around Facebook and use key words to find vegan beauty groups in your area!
Any questions? Let me know what you’re having a hard time with while traveling as a vegan. I’ll do my best to address it in an upcoming post!
